People often find that industrial robots introduced at manufacturing sites seem difficult to use.

Although robots are good at handing simple tasks as programmed to, they struggle when it comes to responding flexibly.

Robots often fail to respond to changes—including misaligned workpieces and workpieces with different shapes—and then people have to step in and make up for the robots' weaknesses.

However, We provides software offering new value: the ability for robots themselves to think and correct movement.

If we can find a way to have robots handle simple tasks currently done by people, robots can be used to help cover the shortage of skilled workers resulting from the aging and decreasing population of Japan.

【仕事内容】

We develop a program in C++ to detect and measure characteristic shapes using 3D point clouds as input.

We also tune the algorithms for faster processing on a PC.

Requirements>

[Ability]

1) Ability to come up with logical answers (patent application possible with novelty)

2) C++ programming

3) Knowledge of mathematics and physics and ability to read academic papers

4) Experience in 3D shape processing software development

5) Experience with OpenGL programming (preferred)

6) Game programming (graphics programmer)

[Experience]

Experience in developing programs using 3D matrices and 3D vectors.
